Ashen Vow: Building a Party That Survives Chapter Four
Ashen Vow coasts along pleasantly until chapter four, where the enemy formations suddenly get smart. A lot of people hit a wall here, and it's almost always a party composition problem rather than a levels problem.
You need a dedicated front line by this point. I wasted a lot of time trying to win on pure damage before accepting that a proper tank with threat-generating skills changes everything. Pull the enemy focus and the back line does its job.
Save your timing-boosted abilities for the enemy mage units. They hit the hardest and go down fast if you interrupt them. Learning the timing window on perfect strikes is worth a practice fight or two.
Spend your gear materials before the chapter, not during. The forge resets your options between regions, so I like to walk into a new area already set up. It made the whole stretch far less stressful.
