Your First Week in Meadowfold

August 9, 2026 · Markus Lindqvist

Meadowfold is forgiving, but a good first week sets you up for a much smoother game. The temptation is to plant everything at once and spread yourself thin, which leaves you cash-strapped and chasing water.

Start small with a single reliable crop and reinvest the earnings. I planted a tight block of one vegetable near the water source and used the profits to expand only once it was running smoothly.

Talk to the villagers early even if it feels unproductive. Friendship unlocks genuinely useful recipes and shortcuts, and the conversations are charming enough to be their own reward.

Don't ignore the tool upgrades. A better watering can early on saves you minutes every single morning, and those minutes add up across a season. It's the first thing I save for every time.
